Nerd
Nerd is an abstract strategy game for two players. Its objective is simple: place four of your pieces to form a square. (Thus the name: Nerd - get square)
Here, I describe the game as I play it on my Go board. The game can be played with pencil and graph paper, but I like the way my Go board feels.
Game play is simple. The first player places one stone in the center of the board. On each turn after that, one player places one of his stones adjacent to an existing stone. (Note: "adjacent to" does not include diagonals; each space has four neighbors.) No stones are ever moved or removed until the end of the game.
To win, a player must put four stones on the corners of any orthogonal square - that is, the square must coincide with the grid, it cannot sit at an angle.
